A woman's bag...what can be said about it? It's the catch all bag, it has your entire life in it. Your everyday bag essentials grows when you become a mom.
Pre-mom life, I always had a HUGE bag with pretty much nothing in it. Since then, I can't seem to find a bag big enough to hold everything I seem to need.
I've literally tried them all, shoulder bags, backpacks, messenger, totes, you name it and I've used it at least once. I switch out my bag often, depending on my needs.
As a commuter, my bag essentials for work are completely different than the weekend bag. Lately, I've been favoring a backpack to commute with but sometimes I'll use a tote/shoulder bag. Weekends are a different story, if I have to go out at all, I normally use a little mini cross body bag.
What essentials you actually need in your bag
First things first, the actual essentials in your bag. I will ALWAYS have some variation of the below items inside my bag.
How to Organize all the Essentials in your Bag
Now, you can't just have all of this stuff rolling about your bag, you'll never find anything. To fix that, separate your items using zippered pouches that are structured & easy to clean like the options below.
Now that you've got your items and how to store/organize them. It's time to talk about the bag itself. There are a TON (like 100's of bags out here, I've used every style except the little itty bitty ones because honestly, if it can only/barely hold my phone, it's not worth my time.
What Type of Bag to Use and Why
Backpacks, shoulder bags, totes, oh my! There are so many types of bags to choose from. I've compared the two most used types; the backpack & the shoulder bag. These two bags that are used the most, whether you are a commuter or just an on-the-go mom.
LOVEVOOK Quilted Backpack
This quilted backpack is the perfect combination of functionality and style.
It has a padded sleeve that fits your laptop or tablet, that even has a wire connection on the outside. Just place your power bank inside & you are good to go!
There are so many colors to choose from and it comes in 3 different sizes to fit any of your needs!
I prefer the back pack style bag when I have a lot to carry. I'm an over thinker, so I will always make sure that I have anything I could possibly need in my bag. This usually causes for a heavy bag so using a back pack is great because it will evenly distribute the weight. A backpack is essential when pregnant!
MOSISO Tote Bag
With enough room featuring 3 different compartments & 3 pockets for everything you need on a daily basis.
It comes with a shoulder strap as well so you can use either as a shoulder bag or just hook it in your elbow.
This bag also comes in 3 different sizes and multiple colors.
This tote is awesome because of the versatility if offers. It's also structured so it can take a beating if needed. Both of these bags are great options and are budget friendly with both being under $50. iIf you're looking for a good quality bag that won't break the bag, these are definitely worth your attention!
Weekend Bag Options
If you are looking for a smaller more travel friendly type of bag for weekend use, I cannot recommend enough, using a small crossbody bag. They are so stylish and are becoming more and more functional. Take one of the smaller organizer bags you've purchased & place the most necessary essentials, like hand sanitizer, extra mask, chapstick etc. inside. Now you've got a place for your phone, wallet/key, & everything else you'll need.
