Last year was…well, to be honest, it was a shit show. Everything changed in the blink of an eye…all of a sudden parents and children were confined to their homes. The home literally became an office, school, and playground in the span of a few weeks. For most families, it still is. Below are 10 of the best purchases we made in 2020.
Being stuck inside the house pretty much 24 hours a day, 7 days a week would drive anyone insane. Internet presence skyrocketed, whether you were navigating remote learning or starting your very own blog like me, check out my post here on why I decided to dive into this amazing world!
Since being stuck at home, on-line ordering has become an everyday occurrence. Here are some of the best online purchases from last year.
For the Home Office
- Monitor – working on a laptop is seriously terrible, who can look at that tiny screen for hours on end? This Sceptre 35” Monitor was the perfect option to complete the workspace. However, if you aren’t into big screens (or pricey ones) check out these two options: HP 23” Monitor or this Samsung 27” Curved Display are equally awesome.
- Desk Organizer – With all the craziness going on in the world, some internal organization was necessary in order to not go insane. And if you’re organizing things, why not make them super pretty, right? This Blu Moncao Desk Organizer is functional and stylish.
- Daily To-Do List – To-Do lists became my go-to while working from home with a toddler. If it didn’t get written down, it didn’t get done. This Bliss Collections Daily Planner really helped to stay on top of things.
Toys for Baby/Toddler
We were extremely lucky that we were quarantined during the Spring/Summer months, so we were able to spend a lot of time outside (thank you, Lord!!!).
- Roller Coaster – this thing is AMAZING and can easily entertain your toddler for hours…Cam has literally spent hours playing on this Step2 Up Down Roller Coaster whether it was using the actual car or just taking his cars/trains down the ramps & ‘races’ them. And in the colder months, you can wash it down real quick & bring it inside for some playroom fun.
- Water Table – another great option to occupy and entertain your kids in the hot summer months. This Little Tikes Fish n Splash Water Table is perfect for your little fishermen. While this water table is entertaining it also works those fine motor skills.
- Portable Play Center – this Summer Pop n Jump Activity Center is the perfect thing for kids under a year old.
- PlayPen – for those super nice days, this Evenflo Versatile Play Space was perfect! Throw a blanket on the ground and then put this down and the little one has enough space to explore around in without getting too far away from you.
Kitchen/Storage Solutions
With the emergence of the Kon Mari method and the Home Edit show/s, 2020 became the year to organize everything. No room was spared, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, closets, etc.
- Produce Storage Bins – these Luxear Fresh Storage Bins were a lifesaver! They are perfect for storing multiple fruits/veggies in one place.
- Raised Cutting Board – If you find yourself always reaching for another cutting mat or board look no further! This Easy to Clean Bamboo Cutting Board is your jam!
- Vacuum Sealed Storage Bags – Were you one of the many who organized and decluttered their closets this past year? These VacBestSpace Saver bags were a great solution for the amount of stuff we had! I even used some of the larger ones to store holiday decor items!
Even though this last 12 months were crazy, there were some good times and amazing memories made. And some of the above items made those memories possible that I’ll be able to carry with me forever.
