For our area, the summer weather is finally here to stay. The days of consistently hot temperatures are lovely…until you have to entertain your kids all day long. Here are some of my favorite summer activities to keep the littles entertained for hours!
Outdoor activities that will keep the kids entertained and won't break the bank.
5 Summer Activities for Kids to Beat the Heat
With these different activities your yard will be the place to be during the summer months.
Splash Pad/Sprinkler combo: This splash pad/sprinkler combo will liven up any backyard. It’s perfect for babies and toddlers alike. The bottom area is a little wading pool, perfect for babies to just sit and splash around.
If you’ve got a bigger yard, go for an actual blow up pool. As your kids get older, they’ll love being able to jump in and out of it. This also benefits the parents because you can also sit and play or just relax (or try to anyway).
If you've got littles who aren't fans of the water or it's a milder day these next few items are for you!
For some fun in between the water activities, grab this sidewalk chalk and create some amazing memories. There is so much you can do with sidewalk chalk. You can create a hopscotch court, an art show or create roads for the kids to drive their cars around.
Another great find for us this year is this bubble machine. Kids LOVE to run around and chase bubbles…this machine saves your life. Just plug it in and you’re good to go for a little bit.
For this kids who love to chase bugs, this bug catching kit is perfect! It’s got everything a budding explorer will need. This is also great for the older kids too for when they want to start chasing those fireflies!
While you are outside enjoying the summer weather and find yourself getting hungry, check out my summer appetizers post for some good eats that are quick to throw together.
Summer activities are probably the easiest because you can spend the entire day outside (weather permitting). Children don’t need expensive vacations to make memories, they just need you!
